Downtown Plymouth is home to many big festivals during the year that draw thousands of people to the area. In the winter they have a Ice Carving festival. In the summer they have a Arts & Craft fair that has several hundred artists and booths. In the fall the Plymouth fall festival supports the local schools and organizations with the food booths and rides in the downtown area. They also have a great chili cook-off too. If you are thinking of relocating to Plymouth and want a true old time downtown area that will make you feel like you are living in the early 1900’s then Plymouth is for you. Homes for Sale in Plymouth Michigan as of 4/10/2018
Plymouth has a great downtown area. It has a central little park where people come to walk their pets, mingle, or just relax. There are plenty of little shops, restaurants, and coffee houses to enjoy. The City of Plymouth and Plymouth Township are actually two different communities but here in south east Michigan we refer to the both a Plymouth. In the city you will find a mixture of Victorian homes, ranches, colonials. Homes in the city of Plymouth will range in age from the 1800’s to the last few years. Homes in the city will fetch a higher price per square foot because of the desirability of being able to walk to an active enjoyable historic downtown.
Relocation clients usually have two main requirement about moving to an area. Low crime and good schools. The children of Plymouth will go to Plymouth Canton schools. It is a good solid school system with dedicated teachers that will prep your children well to go onto to college. It’s a school system that resounds with school spirit and the spirit of helping your children reach their goals in both athletics and education. Plus there are several good private schools in the area.
Many of my clients that have relocated to Plymouth are always concerned about crime in a city and area that they are moving to. They are unsure of what the area is like. Plymouth has a very low crime rate. It is a place that you can allow your children to play outside. A place you could take a walk in at 3 in the morning and not be worried about getting harmed. There is not criminal element. No gangs, no graffiti on the buildings. Yes there will be an occasional robbery or car theft, but Plymouth has a strong police force that is always looking out for it’s residents. You are more apt to have a teenager vandalize or steal something than any other crime.
