You have to remember that many lake homes in West Bloomfield MI started out as small lake cottages. Back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s West Bloomfield’s lakes were getaways for the City of Detroit residents. Some came by train, others by horse and carriage, and early Model a’s to enjoy Oakland County Lakes. There are still small cottages that were built in the 1920’s and 1930’s that still stand.
