Walk to Prevent Suicide Sept. 30 at Kensington Metro Park
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will hold an “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk on Sunday, September 30 from 11 to 2:30 p.m. starting at the East Boat Launch at Kensington Metro Park in Milford. In the United States, a person dies by suicide every 15 minutes, claiming more than 36,000 lives each year. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. among adults 18 to 65 and the second leading cause of death among teens and young adults. The AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding andpreventing suicide. A contribution to the AFSP helps to fund research, education, advocacy, and survivor programs.
