Chain of lakes in Oakland County

Chain of lakes in Oakland County
Schoolhouse Lake in Waterford MI

Lakefront home owners love when multiple lakes are connected together and  they can go from one lake to another, kayaking, boating, or fishing.  There are several chains of lakes in Livingston County but only one that I know of in Oakland County.  Oakland County’s chain of lakes include Wormer Lake, Mohawk Lake, Loon Lake, and Schoolhouse Lake.  All these lakes are in Waterford.

Come relax on Mohawk Lake in Oakland County MI

Oakland County Michigan is full of great lakes. So many that it can be hard to decide which specific one is right for you and your family. That’s why living on a lake that connects to another is so great. You get the access to multiple lakes without the hassle of taking your boat in and out of the water! That means more lake surface area to explore and make great memories on.  Living on just one lake is such a fun and fulfilling experience, imagine living on a lake with direct access to three others!  More curves and bends to explore….more fishing holes to test!

These four lakes are all great on their own, but being that they are all connected, makes them that much greater! Wormer, Mohawk, Schoolhouse, and Loon Lake are all connected, and located in Waterford Michigan. Can you picture yourself living on this special group of lakes? Maybe not yet, but trust me after you see all they have to offer, separately and together, you’re sure to change your mind! These lakes are great family friendly environments, no matter what stage that may mean for you. First time buyers, investors, or those looking to settle down for retirement.  You will definitely find the home of your dreams here!

Let’s go boating on Loon Lake

There is not full access to all these lakes with all types of boats.  To get to many of these lakes you have to go under roads or through a tunnel.  So tall boats like a ski boat with a tower would not go under the roads.  Also some of the newer pontoon boats with higher sides and dashboards may not fit.  So before you buy on one of these lakes go for a ride on the lake and get a measurement of what will fit.  My guide is that you should not have more than an 8′ wide boat.  A small fishing boat, or a low sided speed boat will go through all of the culverts.

Here is a review from a customer this year

Russ was incredibly helpful and very responsive. He scheduled showings, got comparables when we were interested in making an offer and made sure that everything went smoothly. Even though I know we weren’t his only client, he made us feel that way and was very knowledgeable about the areas that we were looking at homes in, which was very helpful. Russ even went out of his way to look at a foreclosure that we were interested in looking at beforehand and saved us the trip.     ~~David Reynolds~~~
