Buying a Metro Detroit home
When you buy a Metro Detroit home you have to think about the resale value when you are going to sell it years from now. There are many external factors that can affect resale value. Things like:
All of these items usually affect a home’s sales price negatively. It will take longer to sell a Metro Detroit home with those issues. Should you not buy a home with any of those characteristics? NO I’m not saying that. Many, many people live on a main road, close to commercial building, near power lines or a railroad track. They love their house and like living where they are at. It is there home. It’s okay and fine to buy a home with those external factors if they do not bother you. What I am saying is to be sure when buying a home like that, make sure that you are buying the home at a discount. If the seller is trying to sell it for the same price as another nearby home that does not have those issues, then you shouldn’t be paying top dollar. There are thousands of homes on main streets, near power lines, and close to commercial buildings. They are being lived in and sold. So just be aware of the recent sold prices and buy the home at a discount from a normal home.
