“The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”
This year our Toys for Tots Donation party, I believe, Embodied this goal very well. It was so obviously clear to me that everyone who participated put their whole heart into this event. When we saw the turnout of guest in correlation to the amount of toys we were taken back, in a good way! some guests brought bags upon bags worth of toys and they just kept on coming! Every person that came, came with at least one or more toys in hand to donate. That is a beautiful thing! I fell that the spirit of the holiday was in the air, while Santa and his four helpful elves made the youngster’s days and even the adults day too! Giving back is such a crucial thing to do in general and around the holidays its when giving back becomes even more necessary. As we who have presents under the tree and food on our plates every night may forget, there are people who are less fortunate, its easy for us to forget about how lucky we are. Well on that Saturday I was reminded of not only how lucky i am to be able to provide, and receive gifts and to have a nice home cooked meal on Christmas eve, but how lucky I am to be surrounded by people that understand how important it is to give back and make the holidays just as wonderful for them as ours is! The amount of joy and warmth in the room filled your heart, I am truly fortunate to have been able to be a part of a donation with such wonderful people. I would like to thank you all that attending, donated, and those who worked to make this possible. Without you all this wouldn’t have been the success it was, and I wish to continue, donating toys and I hope you will too! Every child deserves a toy on Christmas.
