Sorry I’m not doing your real estate agents work

Sorry I’m not doing your real estate agents work

Because we are on the internet we often get calls with questions about situations that buyers and sellers are going through.  As an agent we do not want to criticize or step on another agents toes.  But the home buyer or the seller sometimes double checks on their agent.  Many times it is because the situation is unfamiliar territory for them.  Sometimes they do not have trust in their real estate agent.  Sometimes the answer to the problem does not sit well with the buyer or seller even though it is the correct course of action.

Many times the buyer and seller need affirmation or further explanation of the situation to make them feel better.  I talk to 2 or 3 people a week listing to their situation and explaining or telling them what I would do.  I try to help every way I can.  But it is calls from buyers or sellers wanting me to do work that their agent is not doing for them that excite me.  I’m not doing your agents work for them.

I have had people call me and tell me that they are working with an agent.  Then they will ask me if a certain home is allowed fences, how long it has been on the market, or where are the nearest schools are. Or ask for other information.  SORRY but that is what your agent is for.  To point you in the right direction for the information or to get it for you.

It is pretty simple. We all want to get paid for the work we do.  You do not want to go to work and not get paid.  I have clients and work to do for them.  If you want me to get you the information then work with me.  If your real estate agent is not getting you the information or helping you then maybe you should be looking for another agent.  It’s just that simple.  Ask and make your agent do their job and get your information for you.
