While this lake is a great lake to buy on, you have to understand what goes along with owning a home here. This lake is often misunderstood, thought out to be like every other lake. in fact that’s part of what makes this lake so great, that it is totally different from those around it. This lake is fed by the Huron River and is a public all sports lake. It’s also quite large, at 612 acres, this lake has a lot of room for guests and their toys. Although it is larger, its not very deep. The deepest point in the lake reaches about 34 feet. Being that this lake is public there is the Pontiac state park on one side of the lake, great for the kids to meet new friends and enjoy the volleyball courts and beach. The state owns 2 side of this lake. Along with a state park there are several marinas, unfortunately none of which sell gas.
While the homes on this lake are smaller, it allows you to enjoy the lake rather than worry about the up keep a large home can come with. The homes on this lake are more in the cottage style, while some view this lake unappealing due to the non uniform houses, I find it charming and cozy, You’ll really feel like your stepping outside the cookie cutter box home style and get in touch with the cabin/cottage lake lifestyle feel you’re looking for. one of the perks this lake has is there is no association, which means you can store your boats, snowmobiles or whatever toys you may have out front if you’d like. No restrictions here!
This lake is a great lake for those who want a weekend get away in a popular area. Here you can drive just a few minutes away and find a movie theater, some great restaurants, lazar tag, and bowling! It’s also just a short drive to local shopping centers. Perfect to get the family together for the weekend and spend time on and off the lake!
