Plymouth home warranties – no you are not responsible or insuring the house

As a realtor sometimes we talk over buyers and sellers heads.  We know the business so well we sometimes forget that first time home buyers or first time home sellers don’t understand the business as well as we do.  I recently had a Plymouth home seller say no to giving a home warranty to a buyer.  I had to ask them why they said no before I called the buyer’s agent.

They said no because they thought they are going to warranty the home past the sale date.  That the seller would be responsible for problems in the house after they sell.  That is wrong.

They didn’t understand that a home warranty is just a home insurance policy.  A Plymouth home seller just pays for the home warranty policy and they have no commitment or obligation with anything that goes wrong.

It all rests on the home insurance company.  So don’t get worried about giving a home warranty on yourPlymouth home.  You just pay for it and you have no warranty or obligation to the buyer after the day of closing.  You are just going to spend about $400 for a home warranty.
