OK let’s negotiate smart About a month ago I had a client that was in the middle of negotiations and said $142,000 is as high as I go because the house needs work. I said hold on. Think about what you are doing. I told him how many lake front homes are you going to find in this price range on an all sports lake. There are very few 2000 square foot homes on an Oakland County all sports lake in the $150,000 range. They are few and far between. So what are you going to do? Sure the house may need $20,000 of work. But what are you going to find a house at $162,000 that is just as nice. There are so few homes to chose from. My clients have been looking for 4 months and nothing was as nice. Plus they liked this Oakland County all sports lake the best. So before you stomp your feet down and decide to stop because the seller is asking for more money.
