No I’m not – Life of a Plymouth realtor

I had an out of state client that wanted to buy a home.  I may of lost him as a client, but he didn’t understand I didn’t want the liability.  He was here for a while looking at homes, but then had to go back to California to do some work.

He has been gone several weeks, but he wants me to pick out a “good” home for him.  Sorry no I’m not going to do that.  There are too many things that could go wrong.  I can tell you I can end up at the wrong end of a law suit too quickly.

Every buyer has there idea of what is a good house is.  Sure I know what you like, but for me to pull the trigger is not a good idea.  What happens when you show up at the close and do not like the house?  Am I supposed to set up the inspection too?

Now that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.  It would be easily construed that I influenced the inspector to overlook something in order to sell a home.  As a Plymouth Realtor the judge or jury is going to side with you because I should have known better.  Sorry there is just too much legal liability for me to choose the next home you are going to live in.  I know you may not like my decision, and if you chose not to use me because of that I understand.

I would rather you chose your next home.  I would like to keep my license and keep my reputation clean.  This is just another day in the life of a Plymouth realtor.
