Metro Detroit real estate
Right now most of Oakland County and Wayne County is a sellers market. Why I say most of because there are some areas that the demand is not high. There are cities that there is not a high demand to buy a home in, there are some price ranges in some cities that there are too many homes of the same condition, and there are some upper end price range homes that there are just not that many buyers. So you need to ask your agent what is going on in the area and in the price range that you are looking at. But I read this on another blog and had to comment that this is so untrue in Metro Detroit right now.
Many times we are running into multiple bids. A recent article in the Livonia Observer quoted a real estate agent saying one home they had 29 offers on one property. When bidding on Metro Detroit real estate ask your Realtor what you should expect. And BELIEVE THEM. That is the most frustrating part of my job. When I explain what the market is like and then have a client listen to a friend or the guru in the family. Many things are written on the internet and many things are said on TV. But that may be national new, or even the Metro News. Selling homes and the market is different in Novi versus Redford, Royal Oak versus Ferndale. Sometimes even different parts of the cities may be hotter than others. That’s where a real estate agent’s knowledge and research can help you land a piece of Metro Detroit real estate at a good price.
