How a showing appointment gets set up – Metro Detroit homes
When you send me a list of Metro Detroit homes to see this is what I do. I first print all the MLS sheets of the home out there to make sure they are all available. Then I map quest them to put them in a route so we are not backtracking or wasting time. Then I make calls to the listing office. I have to give them my agent id, my office, my office phone number, and my name. I have to tell them the day and time I want to show the house. Then the listing office calls the homeowner or seller of the home. They see if it fits the sellers schedule. Sometimes the seller is at work, or not answering their cell phone. So it may take 24 hours to get back to us. Sometimes the seller says no or says to make it later or earlier. That screws up our route. Sometimes the seller won’t show on the weekends or at certain times. I have had people not let us in because there is a dog there, a child is sick, they have people coming over, or they are getting ready for church, or it is the child’s naptime. There are lots of reasons why they don’t let us in a certain times. So it screws up the schedule. Sometimes I will have to call all the listings again to rearrange the listing appointments. After the listing office has gotten the approval to show the house they call me and give me instructions. They may tell me to shut lights off, or take off shoes, or put in an alarm code. Then we are able to go and see the house. This is what it takes to see a home and set up a showing appointment.
