Lotus Lake Waterford Michigan is a beautiful lake that is connected to Maceday Lake. You will hear it referred to as Lotus-Maceday Lake or Maceday-Lotus Lake. Between the two lakes they add up to about 419 acres. Lotus Lake is about 200 acres in size with a maximum depth of 65 feet. Maceday Lake is a little deeper at 117′ maximum depth. The water source of the lake is the Clinton water shed.
It is a public all sports lake. There is no public access on Lotus Lake itself, but Maceday Lake does on the South side off of Williams Lake Road. If you did not know that Maceday and Lotus Lake were two separate lakes you may think it was just one lake. There is no public beach on the lake. Blain Island is almost on the fringe of Maceday and Lotus Lake.
There are 5 islands on Lotus-Maceday Lake. Three of them have bridges to them and have houses on them. I once heard a story about Blaine island which is the biggest island on the lake. There once was a doctor that had his own personal zoo. He had bears and other animals in cages on the island near his home. That is just what I had heard from an old lake resident that now lives in a different state.
